Todd Tams, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM

Chief Medical Officer

VCA Animal Hospitals

Dr. Tams graduated from The Ohio State University in 1977.  He worked at a mixed practice in Vermont from 1977-78, before completing an internship at West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group in 1979, and then did a two year internal medicine residency (1979-81) at Colorado State University.  From 1981-84 he was a staff internist at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston.  He returned to Los Angeles in 1984, working as an internist and gastroenterologist at the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group.  In January 1987, West L.A. became the first VCA hospital.  Dr. Tams is now Chief Medical Officer for Veterinary Centers of America, as well as a part-time internist at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital.

Howard Seim, DVM, Diplomate ACVS

Colorado State Univeristy

Dr. Seim graduated from Washington State University in 1975.  He completed a one year internship at the Western Veterinary College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1976, followed by a surgery residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City (1976-78).   In 1978 he joined the faculty at Colorado State University and has taught there ever since.  Dr. Seim’s seminars are very practical and the video presentations, which were produced during actual clinical case surgeries, serve to highlight important points.  Dr. Seim is well known as an outstanding and entertaining speaker and instructor.

Jeanne Ficociello, VMD, DACVIM

Internist

VCA South Shore (Weymouth) Animal Hospital

Dr. Ficociello graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006.  She moved to Los Angeles where she completed a one-year rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital 2007.  She returned to Boston as a general practitioner for one year.  In 2008 she moved to Colorado and completed a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at Colorado State University.  Dr. Ficociello also earned her Masters during this time period and studied infectious diseases.  She is currently a veterinary specialist at VCA South Shore (Weymouth) Animal Hospital in Boston where she has practiced since 2011.
